Self Love Is Ok.

Self love is extremely important. I never really realised the importance of self love until this year, and now I just can't get enough of it. If you're thinking 'how on earth do I self love?' Just imagine what you would say to someone that you really care about if they were feeling down... You've thought of it?? Good. Well now say that exact thing to yourself because you are just as important as everyone else.

Learning to love yourself is not as simple as it sounds. It is a journey you embark on that can take a pretty long time, however there are in fact lots of simple things you can do, and ways you can practice self love that everyone should be doing on a daily basis. Here are just a few of the things that I like to do when I'm feeling down and I need a lil pick me up.

Take an evening for yourself- It is so important to have alone time to reconnect with yourself. Do something that YOU like to do, whether you go to the movies or just lie in bed with a tub of ice cream, binge watching your favourite show on Netflix.

Treat yourself- Treat yourself to a coffee, to that pair of shoes you've been wanting for ages, a cupcake from the bakery, or even just a bar of chocolate. Do you know why? because you deserve it.
Run yourself a bath- Have a nice warm bath, throw in your favourite bath bomb, light a candle, and just lie there for as long as you darn well want too.

Escape social media- It's very easy to sit there scrolling through social media comparing your life with others. I am guilty myself, and i'm pretty sure everyone else does it too. It's not healthy, and you need to learn to love your life.

Stop trying to please everyone- So what if you didn't meet a deadline, or you didn't visit a friend because you were too tired.

Compliment yourself- Tell yourself you're beautiful, and you're worthy. You're enough.

Learn to forgive yourself- Everyone makes mistakes, everyone does things that they regret, and not everyone is perfect. Forgive yourself for lacking in self love, forgive yourself for calling in sick, forgive yourself for not being a good enough friend. There's only so much you can do for other people when you're in a bad place, and your number one priority should be yourself.

Breathe- It's so easy to get sucked into what everyone else is doing, and what is going on around you. Pause. Take a deep breath and clear your mind.
